air performance on WERS 88.9 from 12-2. We will be continuing the celebration at the White Mountain Boogie
(featuring funk guitar master Melvin Sparks) Saturday Aug 21st.
BoHo founding members Garret Savluk, Henley Douglas Jr. and Jeff Buckridge continue to explore the rhythms of
funk, jazz, and world beat music.
The band’s constant performing in all of the blues, jazz and rock clubs throughout New England and New York is
gaining momentum as their ever increasing fan base continues to spread the word about our music. No matter
what the venue or size of the audience the Boston Horns always bring it 100% when they take the stage. Their
positive energy in pursuit of having a great time playing their originals and re-arrangements of some great funk
and New Orleans classics is catching on. We’re looking forward to having some great opportunities to perform in
the near future. One such date will be Oct 9th opening for Tower of Power and the Casino at Hampton Beach.
The White Mountain Boogie Aug 21st and the Valley Jam Sept 18th will be show case performances for the
Boston Horns. Being able to play with Melvin Sparks is always a dream come true for any musician. Melvin is one
of the most talented musicians in the world today. He’s pure soul and a positive force on the scene today. You
always feel good inside after experiencing Melvin Sparks. The Boston Horns will also be showcasing their new
lineup, which has been turning rooms out wherever they play.
Eric Sayre (bass) has become the groove master for the band. He’s has a very funky way of laying it down. He’s
strong and steady, yet he adds his own original flavor to the music. We’ve been getting great feedback from our
fans about his style and it’s all good. He’s all about SOUL!
Drums - We’ve been lucking to have some of the best drummers in the area playing with us. John Loud, Peter
MacLean, along with Josh Fleischman and Zack Field has been laying it down for us. They’re all part to the Boston
Horns brotherhood and we appreciate all of their hard work making it happen.
Still going strong after 5 years. There’s so much more music we want to play.
Garret Savluk continues to be a force to be experienced. He plays so much trumpet and you don’t get to hear a
man playing so strong all night long any where. You never know how where he’s going to take you on any given
night. One thing is for sure anyone who knows music will leave shaking their heads. Garret is fast becoming for
one of the masters of his instrument. He’s a first call player/arranger on many recording and performance gigs.
He is the leader of the Boston Horns.
Henley Douglas Jr. (sax) brings his soul force to the gig every night. His emotion and what he’s feeling inside is
what comes out at every show. Music and playing with Garret is the most honest /truthful part of his life. He’s very
humble about the fact that the Boston Horns play their own music on all of these gigs. He’s been playing with
Garret for 18 years loving every minute of it. He looks forward to blowing down rooms all over the world in the
future with Garret Savluk and the Boston Horns.
Jeff Buckridge (guitar) is also bringing it every night. Jeff as with the rest of the band, gets stronger with every gig.
He’s finding his own voice and style with the music. He’s contributed many tunes to the BoHo songbook as well
as providing a hip rehearsal space (nice pool).
Big thanks go out to all of the great musicians that have come through The Boston Horns - Mark Longo, Mike
Rush (Squid), Jack Howard, Good Foot, Ed Spargo, Julie Doherty and Craig Mcintyre. Also Dan Tarlow co-
producing and engineering all of our cd’s to date. Mikael Mersha - for mastering our last 3 cd’s and his great
artwork design on our last 2 cd’s. Last but not least John and Gina Flaschner for all of their support and promotion
in the North Country Valley. You opened up a new area for us to play in. We couldn’t of done it with out you.
Thanks to all of our friends and fans of the music, that’s what it’s all about. Looking forward to playing for you in
the future!
